Is it Human Hair?
The hair I use is the highest quality human hair on the market. The hair is attached in a strand-by-strand technique with a keratin protein bond that is at the end of each strand of the extension.
How long does your hair have to be?
It is recommended that the hair is at least 4” in length. It is easier with longer hair. Shorter hair is harder to blend and grows out quicker. Going very long with short hair is not recommended. Each person’s hair texture and length is different, so a consultation will be able to determine options that will suit your needs.
How long do extensions last?
We recommend that after the initial install you visit the salon for regular maintenance appointments every 4-6 weeks. During these maintenance appointments it may be necessary to remove bonds that have become untidy and replace them with new extensions. This depends upon the individual and according to ones natural hair growth.
A strand-by-strand method can last up to 4 months or so. They say it can last up to 6 months, but remember the bond will be growing out as the hair grows out. Any kind of extension when grown out can put undue stress upon the hair and cause breakage. Your at home maintenance will greatly effect how long they will last.
Will hair extensions damage my hair?
With proper care and the proper installation, hair extensions will not damage your hair. If a person allows tangles to build up into dreads, it will put undue stress on the hair and most likely end up in breakage. Brushing hair with a special brush twice a day is recommended. It is recommended to visit the salon for a monthly maintenance. Your hair should be in the same condition as your hair was before the extensions were put in, if not better.
How long will be at the salon?
It all depends on the amount of hair being put in your hair. If you are putting a few pieces in for fullness or highlights. It will not take as long as putting in a full set of extensions. It can be anywhere from 3-7 hours. I recommend blocking out your day and make it a relaxing day at the salon.
