Is it human hair?
The hair I use is the highest quality human hair on the market. The hair is attached in a strand-by-strand technique with a keratin protein bond that is at the end of each strand of the extension.
How long does your hair have to be?
It is recommended that your own hair be at least 4 inches in length. The longer your hair, the more natural the extensions look. Shorter hair is harder to blend and grows out quicker. Going very long with short hair is not recommended. Each person’s hair texture and length is different, so a consultation will be able to determine options that will suit your needs.
How long do extensions last?
We recommend that after the initial install you visit the salon for regular maintenance appointments every 4 weeks. During maintenance appointments it may be necessary to remove bonds that have become untidy, and replace them with new extensions. This depends upon the individual and is based on one’s natural hair growth.
A strand-by-strand method can last up to 4 months or so. Some say it extensions can last up to 6 months, but the bond will be growing out as the hair grows out. Any kind of extension when grown out can put undue stress on your own hair and cause breakage. Proper home and salon maintenance will greatly impacts how long they will last.
Will hair extensions damage my hair?
With proper care and the proper installation, hair extensions will not damage your hair. If a person allows tangles to build up into dreads, it will put undue stress on the hair and most likely end up in breakage. Brushing hair with a special brush twice a day is recommended. It is recommended to visit the salon for maintenance very 4 weeks. Your hair should be in the same condition as it was before the extensions were put in, if not better.
How long will be at the salon:
The time it takes to add hair extensions to your natural hair depends on the amount. Putting a few pieces for fullness or highlights does not take as long as a full set of extensions. The process can take anywhere between three and seven hours. I recommend a full day of relaxing at the salon while your extensions are applied.
